‘Lil Nicovani’

The only real association that comes to mind for the number 26 is that it is the diameter of a very common bicycle rim size, that didn't bring any inspiration to this piece however, I instead chose to take a series of photos which were taken with this piece in mind, and combine them together in 26 different ways. Averaging and layering them together bit by bit, with the final 26th combination being the final image. The inspiration, if you could call it that, was the desire to create something that embodied the number without that number being at all visible or discernable from the image itself. Now that I have had time to sit with the image I feel it speaks to a larger desire to obfuscate intention as well as source imagery in my work.
